Alex: What's your name?
Christa: Christa!
Alex: Just Christa?
Christa: Yep! Ok ok. Christa Witmier.
Alex: Ok, Ms.Whitmier, what do you do for work?
Christa: I do events, marketing and promotions for Better Brands. I also write for the [Honolulu] Weekly right now.
Alex: What's the best part about your job?
Christa: Being the boss. I'm bossy. It's my job to boss people around and make them do things a lot.
Alex: That sounds nice; I'm usually the one getting bossed around... How about the worst thing you can about your job?
Christa: All the grey areas; having to do business with friends and vice versa.You want to do everything you can for your friends, but sometimes it's not good for business or whatever.
Alex: So… Better Brands huh? Can we get some free alcohol?
Christa: Of course, I'll buy you a drink right now, can you drive to Waipio?
Alex: Keys are in the ignition. Do you have any other hobbies?
Christa: I am so super in love with lurking.I'm such a lurker…
Alex: I’ve also heard you’re somewhat of a blogger…
Christa: Hahaha, that's such a funny word, "blahger". Blog. Say it, “bloggg”.
Alex: Bloggggggg! It sounds like you're throwing up.
Christa: Holy crap, I know. I used to HATE that word.I feel like it was Myspace that made that word the norm for what people like me do.
Alex: But you are very good at what you do.
Christa: Thank you, coming from you guys that means a lot. I'm your biggest fan, I swear.
Alex: Awwww and we love you back! P.S. For the 2-3 people on the island that don't know, Christa runs SuperCW.com.
Christa: Haha, I’m sure there's more than that. Not everyone is all in to the Internet like us!
Alex: They should be!
Christa: But I did have someone ask me the other day:"So how many people run that supercw thing?"
Alex: What did you tell them?
Christa: I jumped his bones, totally the truth.
Alex: That sounds dirty.
Christa: Well I mean, I already had a huge crush on him. But yeah, he was seriously asking me that, like there's a team or something ha ha.
Alex: You are the team! How many events do you think you will go to in a week end?
Christa: Hmm. It's actually not as many as you think. Maybe like 4 or 5. I don't really have weekends. It's all week and weekend kind of. Sometimes I’ll rage Tues-Wed-Thurs and stay in Friday etc, you know?
Alex: Ha ha yeah we know that feeling too well. You’re always snapping pictures, how many do you take a week?
Christa: Usually about 400-800 per week. Then I go through and delete the shitty ones. Then I upload the 250-300 or so to the internet, and blog about 100-150 of them each week.
Alex: So what kinda camera are you rockin'?
Christa: it's a canon 20d. It was a gift from that guy that tried to start that Honolulu street wear company.
Alex: That’s quite a gift. We’ve noticed some bedazzles on your camera. What’s up with those?
Christa: OH! Ha ha those are swporaski crystals. I ordered one of those bling ring kits for my phone and had a bunch left over and the glue that comes with it sticks to anything, so I did my little point and shoot digi one that got stolen with a quickness.I eventually did the SLR camera though.
Alex: Nice! It’s purdy.
Christa: Hahah it's funny to see people's reactions to it, in the nightlife. It’s easier to get photos of people I don't know, they're like "Oooh shiny!" and I’m like "click!"
Alex: I was thinking of wrapping our cameras in leopard print, any thoughts?
Christa: OMG!!! That would BE SO KILLER! I love leopard print stuff.
Alex: Haha I was kidding, but maybe. What is your favorite venue right now?
Christa: God that's a toss up; Thirtyninehotel, Manifest….this week, V Lounge. I like places where you don't have to dress up
Alex: Gotta love the V Lounge.
Christa: Apartm3nt grew on me with a quickness, but I hate it on the weekends, too many people, lol. I love all the staff, I like to go when I can chill with them and drink, not rub shoulders with all these beautiful fuckin people, haha.
Alex: Oh Apartm3nt is fun, but I get your point. What are your favorite 3 alcohols?
Christa: So here's the thing,I was never the biggest drinker. I'm bandwaggony, I'll drink whatever.So I start working here (Better Brands) and now I’m so particular with what I drink! If I'm out it's either Guinness or Moscato d'Asti or a dirty vodka martini.
Alex: What do you drink when you don't want to feel feelings anymore?
Christa: Haha! Bombay Sapphire, that stuff is 94 proof! Kyle at 39 knows how to make it taste like nothing too. Omg.
Alex: Shot? Or drink?
Christa: Drink - he puts that ginger stuff in it, Canton. It's like from heaven, I want one now.
Alex: I've had that, it’s good. Kyle, get ready to make a ton of those…
Christa: I wonder what he calls it. I just say "give me that drink."
Alex: We will have to find out, or maybe that’s the name of it.
Christa: Go in there and say, "Give me that drink that you always make CW."
Alex: Do you mind people calling you CW?
Christa: Nope. That was always my nickname actually, well, since like age 19.
Alex: When did you start SuperCW? And why?
Christa: I actually started it in 1997, when I was living in Newquay. It was on Angelfire then. (A free web hosting company). Then I learned how to code it myself and made the domain name SuperCW.It was mainly an email to my friends and family online, with photo updates about where I was and what I was doing. I was never in the same place for very long.
Alex: Now everyone loves it! Well done.
Christa: I was just writing it to my own friends. I never really got why people who didn't know me caught on, then I thought about the photo blogs I lurk. I don't really know those people. Sometimes you just connect with the way people present things...
Alex: From what I've noticed it is very easy to read and you make people famous. What's not to love?
Christa: That's what's cool about the internet. If you don't like something, you don't have to look at it. I myself am addicted to sites like mine, I always get asked if I care when there's new people coming up, I'm like HELL NO. I wish there were more people doing it actually. Whenever I see you, or Aaron (honozooloo), or Dan Weaver (back in the day) somewhere I'd get all stoked. I'd know that we're going to get like 3 or 4 perspectives on the same night.It's rad.
Alex: That's one way to look at it...haha. Ok help us settle a debate, What is the best flavor of Ben and Jerry's ice cream?
Christa: Haha you stoners! I don't even know.The monkey one?
Alex: The “Monkey” one?
Christa: Banana Fanna? Hahaha. OH! Chunky Monkey!
Alex: Wrong!Haha. Just kidding. I'm partial to Cherry Garcia.
Christa: I ate that at Jerry Garcia's memorial party thing in Seattle, everyone was eating it. I was like, you guys are cheesy as hell, gimme a bite!
Alex: And?
Christa: I didn't like the cherry skin stuff in it.
Alex: This interview is over!
Christa: Haw haw.
Alex: So we want to ask you some serious questions now.
Christa: ok
Alex: Are you into video game "dorks"?
Christa: No. I like dorks, but I don't like video games.
Alex: Do you think a guy who takes bubble baths is weird?
Christa: Oooh, good question. I tend to be drawn more towards the eccentric sort of dudes, so I don't think it's weird, or, I do think it's weird but I like it.
Alex: Interesting... Ok, so you like the "weird" ones?
Christa: I mean, people think they know what they like and I usually just sort of think about what I've liked in the pastand it's always the quiet, eccentric types. I can "say" I like outgoing funny popular typesbut it's not really true.
Alex: How about the loud/drunk types?
Christa: Oh, you mean Corey? Or you and Daniel?
Alex: Ah, the truth comes out.Quick! Spend $10 at Zippy's.
Christa: Grilled cheese sandwich, mahi sandwich, and chilli cheese fries.
Alex: Most people ask for the 3 things you would want on a deserted island, we want the 3 you couldn't stand.
Christa: A loud breather, a fussy baby, and traffic, haha.
Alex: Yeah those sound awful. If you had a super-power what would it be? (extra points if it makes us laugh).
Christa: To be able to like, switch my voice to music, like full music - like when Stitch had his finger on Lilo's elvis record.
Alex: I have to re-watch that movie now, but unique.
Christa: How rad would that be! To be able to just have music come out of your mouthat any time. Ok ok ok,to be invisible. Everyone wants the invisible super power.
Alex: Well I guess we can give you both. Enjoy. Can you name all of the Ninja Turtles?
Christa: Raphael, Leonardo…fuck, they were all Italian names…Donatello.
Alex: No Google.
Christa: I don't know the rest.
Alex: 1 more, the party dude.
Christa: Don't remember. Lame.
Alex: Michelangelo.
Christa: Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Alex: What animal was their master?
Christa: I never watched the fucking show, okay? I only knew the names because everyone would always dress like them for Halloween.
Alex: Ok, take it easy...haha. He was a rat by the way. In case someone asks in an interview or something.
Christa: Whew,thanks!
Alex: What's the worst celebrity 3-some you can think of to walk in on, here's what we came up with.
Clay Aiken, Rosie O Donell, and Courtney Love.
Christa: Ooooh!Kathy griffin,Kirstie Alley, and Jon Gosselin.
Alex: I feel sick. Ok last question: Finish this line. If you don't know...?
Christa: ...you're probably better off.
Alex: good advice. Anyone you wanna thank?
Christa: YOU GUYS! For working your asses off and partying your faces off and making a truly great product, all the people who have the courage and dedication to open bars and clubs in this town, I know that's not easy. You people give people like me a reason for loving this town!
