Can someone tell me why red lion and magoos on thursdays are packed and every other day isnt?

Even for those that don't have class on friday, the college weekend unspokenly starts on thursday. It's like this everywhere, not just Hawaii.

There is very simple reasoning behind this. It's the main night for cheap drink specials, and well since most college students are poor they go for those.
