80s POP MUZIK is held every last Saturday of each month at Bar 35 and the next one with the theme of "DRESS YOU UP" will be held on Saturday, March 27. Spinning on the decks are DJs Modboy and Nocturna. This month's special guest is one of Hawaii's renowned DJs and Promoter, Daniel J. Former resident of the original Pink Cadillac (1980s) in Waikiki and Pink's Garage, he will be taking us back to memory lane to the music of the Waikiki nightlife scene back in the day.
The 1980s was a fabulous decade of unforgettable pop culture trends and one of the most memorable of all was the music of the 1980s. Who can forget the synthesizers, the pretty boy bands, the soulful lyrics of 80s tunes, and the unforgettable iconic characters who emerged into the scene and became a legend like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Boy George, The Cure, Blondie, Devo, Kiss, who continued their success through the 80s, just to name a few.
People loved to dress up to go out to parties and clubs. "Dress you up" inspired by Madonna's second studio album in 1985, Like a Virgin, is about having style, looking good and giving love with everything you have and creating a look that's made for you.
We would like to invite everyone to come out to Bar 35 on Saturday, March 27, put on your best 80s outfit and dance to the beat of the music. Come as your favorite 80s pop icon who inspires you the most, shine like a superstar & dance for inspiration !
80s POP MUZIK, put together by DJ Modboy and DJ Nocturna will be held every last Saturday of the month at Bar 35 (35 N. Hotel St) with different Guest DJs every month to spin 80s music and 80s theme.
