On April 30, Dakini Dance Company hosts Bellypalooza at Bar 35, a celebration of all things midriff related! Featuring burlesque, experimental dance, and of course *belly* dance, prepare to be stunned by some of Oahu's finest performers, including Cherry Blossom Cabaret, Malia and the Bellydancers in Paradise, Shakti Dance Movement, Beatboxer Jason Tom, and of course, Dakini Dance Company.
Formed in late 2008, Dakini is Honolulu's first experimental bellydance troupe. Combining Tribal Fusion and American Tribal Style bellydance with an avant-garde edge, Dakini Dance Company adds a theatrical sensibility to crisp technique and electrifying performances. Dakini has performed to rave reviews here on Oahu -- now help them get to Tribal Fest! Tribal Fest was the first and is currently the largest festival of Tribal Fusion Bellydance in the world. Dakini will be performing their crowd-pleasing Mad Science number at Tribal Fest! Bellypalooza is a benefit to help support Dakini Dance Company's performance at Tribal Fest 10.
Bellypalooza will also feature a raffle and dancing until 2 am with guest DJ Mr Nick!
