The show's producer, Al Simbahon, has been in the professional entertainment field for the past 40 years. As a former professional musician and 25 years as a producer, promoter, and talent manager, his skills and knowledge of event production and advertising is second to none. The team he has chosen are committed with the important factor of "customer first" attitude.
The surf producer of this event is non other then Hawaii's Surf Ambassador, Clyde Aikau, who is also well known around the world as a champion big wave surfer and as an Ambassador of Aloha. Clyde ha sheld the first place title in the big wave surf meets including, the Duke Kahanamoku Surfing Championship at Waimea Bay and the Makaha International Championship.
Clyde and his older brother Eddie Aikau were City and County of Honolulu Lifeguards for Waimea Bay for over seven years, where they saved hundreds of lives from the monster waves at Waimea Bay. Books have been written and movies made depicting the life story of Eddie Aikau who who died in an attempt to save the lives of his fellow crewman on the twin hull Hawaiian Sailing Canoe, "Hokulea".
Clyde has taught surfing all over the world including, France, Brazil, Japan, Peru, Mexico, Indonesia, New Caledonis, California, and Florida. He is one of only five people who can certify new and current surf instructors and canoe captains for the State of Hawaii.
With the association of Hawaii's top surf and ocean amateur and pro enthusiasts the surf portion of the event is well conceived and will definitely make this event rock.
One particular innovation that's worth mentioning is our creation of the very first ever, "Amateur Indoor Surf Meet". Amateur surfers from three surf categories, body, surf and long board, will submit their video of their best ride. Imagine seating in a theatre, darkened lights, a very large wide screen, and a great sound system pumping up our amateur riders videos. Breathless!!! A separate judging system for best ride and videographer will score the competition. Amateur surf photographers will also vie for the best in photography award and prizes. Okay, let's add skateboard competition and swimsuit contest. Wow!!!
Can we say "round the clock"? Yes we can. Inclusive in the show will be live professional entertainment, a five category "Top of the Rock" band competition, a group "Hip Hop to the Top" dance competition, dance and music school demonstrations, a car audio "Pound da Sound" contest, and the list goes on.
